Northern Lights Wrestling is a Canadian based company that has partnered up with Honor Wrestling in hopes of helping each other out. The company is a smaller promotion that offers fast-paced, great action but due to its budget, it can not afford to run PPV’s on their own. Honor Wrestling has agreed to share their PPV events with the company as a trade-off for helping Honor to develop and scout or new talent to come to Honor Wrestling.
Northern Lights Wrestling will host a weekly show called Supernova. The company travels all over Canada, except when part of the Honor PPV. The main HQ is located in Ottawa, Canada.
Northern Lights Wrestling plans on bringing a bit of “Old School” style of wrestling. The owner feels that all companies seem to have forgotten that the simple things are what makes a great wrestling show. Instead of giving all wrestlers free amount of airtime to do a “Promo” the owner wishes to take it back to how it was when he was younger. Back when wrestlers went out there said very little, got to the point and went out to have a match.
The owner feels this is a perfect place for rookies, veterans, semi-retired, and those wanting to stand out with a “Gimmick”. Expect to see wrestlers using their real names while others will clearly be playing a role to act out and will go by a stage name.
WGN America has agreed to pick the show up and have given them a Sunday time slot at 8 pm EST. The show will run commercial free for one hour for the first few episodes and willing to give them one additional hour if the ratings demand it.
