Live From New York City
The room is set up ready for the play-by-play of the action from earlier in the night. Two large, high backed leather chairs sit either side of a glass topped table, the surface of which is covered with the Pride logo; a huge flat screen TV lining the wall behind them.
In one chair sits Taylor Bradford and in the other, Clyde Simmons.
Taylor Bradford: Thanks for joining us tonight on the inaugural episode of Adrenaline!
Clyde Simmons: We have some incredible and in some cases, brutal action to go over tonight; so let's kick this off with our first match...
Singles Match
Athena Bordeaux vs Katrina vs Erron Wilder
Athena Bordeaux vs Katrina vs Erron Wilder
The screen behind them comes to life with Athena, Katrina and Wilder all inside the cage already. All three are having the rules gone over to them, reminding them the only ways to win the match is a pinfall or submission.
Clyde Simmons: The cage adds an element of danger to these matches that most of these competitors may not be ready for, but Wider certainly seems to know his was around the cage as he is taking it to Athena Bordeaux!
Taylor Bradford: Wilder is literally beating Athena right now, those rights and lefts are landing in all the wrong places for her; it’s no surprise looking at this footage that Wilder took the lead early on in this match up.
Clyde Simmons: Katrina though, not to be discounted with some serious offensive maneuvers keeping Erron on his toes; this young lady is a relative unknown in the wrestling world and has been pretty quiet about her intentions up until this point.
Taylor Bradford: It was only a matter of time before the cage itself would come into play and we’re right into it in the first match, with Wilder using that cage almost like a cheese grater to the beautiful face of Katrina…
Clyde Simmons: Katrina fighting back from that with an impressive heel kick, sending Erron a good few steps back and into the waiting arms of Athena, who was unable to capitalize on the action though and instead was taken down by Wilder with a Just Deserts!
Taylor Bradford: And that was all she wrote: Erron Wilder picking up a victory with a pinfall over Athena Bordeaux
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Julian Savell: Interview
Julian Savell: Interview
The screen changes to another area backstage where a long black curtain with the Adrenaline Logo printed on it, hangs behind Pride interviewer Kendall Johnson and her first interviewee of the night, Julian Savell.
Kendall Johnson: I am here right now with the legend himself, Julian Savell, who is making a one night only appearance for the inaugural Pride show. Julian can I just say what an absolute Honor it is that you are my very first interview for Pride!
Julian laughs as he hears the excitement come from Kendall.
Julian Savell: "An Honor? Is that a little play on words you're doing there? You shouldn't feel honored that you're here with me doing your first interview, you should be GRATEFUL! Why? Because I'm a wrestling God!
Kendall smirked slightly but nods politely.
Kendall Johnson: "Well, you've certainly staked that claim on more than one occasion, so, tonight are you looking to prove that in the ring with Lennox Tate?"
He scoffs as he holds up his umbrella, inspecting it.
Julian Savell: "I have nothing left to prove. My legend is forever. Lennox? She has everything to prove. She wanted this match to use my name to make her famous. But sadly for her, the only reason she's going to be famous is because of how I destroyed her."
Kendall's eyes follow his umbrella for a moment before she looks back at him with another smile.
Kendall Johnson: "How do you feel about her saying that you in fact, are no longer a legend? Do you feel that your time outside of the States has damaged your career in the eyes of the fans?
Julian rolls his eyes before slamming the end of his umbrella down into the ground.
Julian Savell: "I don't give a fuck what Lennox or the fans think. You see, the fans listen to those who cater to them, not the realists like myself. I present the cold, hard, ugly truth and they don't want that. They want to be PG, they want to be nice, they want Jesus. Fuck all that. I'm the ugly truth of this sport and you know what that truth still is? That I'm better and even badder than I was before."
Kendall jumps slightly when the end of the umbrella hits the ground but regains her composure quickly.
Kendall Johnson: "And why do you say that? What makes you better and badder than before?"
His eyes become serious as he steps closer to Kendall.
Julian Savell: "Because I no longer have a conscious. I no longer have anyone holding me back. I'm no longer trying to please anyone but myself! And that? That makes me the most dangerous man in wrestling."
Kendall looks up at him and swallows hard, nodding her head slightly.
Kendall Johnson: "And when you say that you are only trying to please yourself... What does that mean for Lennox?"
An evil grin runs across his face.
Julian Savell: "It could mean several things. Blood. Broken bones. Paralysis. Death. All of them are options on the table. That bitch wants to use me for fame? Well I'm going to make her famous in the worst way possible."
Kendall's cheeks pale slightly as she continues to stare up at Julian.
Kendall Johnson: "Um.. Well.. Do you not think perhaps you are underestimating her some? She does come from a prestigious lineage and of course has been training under Jacob Daniels..."
Julian bursts into laughter.
Julian Savell: "Her lineage means shit. I've seen plenty of shitty second and third generation wrestlers. And you want to know the funny thing? The generation before them was shit too! As for her training with Daniels? What has he done besides dominate second rate talent in IPW? Nothing! He strays away from the big time players like myself. So fuck Lennox, she's trash and I'm going to murder her."
Kendall nods again, taking a half step back.
Kendall Johnson: "Is there anything else you'd like to add about tonight, or perhaps your own future after Pride?"
He steps forward.
Julian Savell: "My future here is only for tonight... And if you don't stop asking stupid questions, that's how long your Pride future is going to last as well... one fucking show!"
Kendall frowns slightly, dropping a hand to her hip.
Kendall Johnson: "Well I'm sorry my questions aren't up to your high standard Mr. Savell but I'm just doing my job, what exactly would you like me to ask?"
He stops and points to his left.
Julian Savell: "Exit, stage left."
She follows his hand with her eyeline.
Kendall Johnson: "Bye then."
He turns and glares at the camera before walking away.
Special Attraction Match
Lennox Tate vs Julian Savell
Lennox Tate vs Julian Savell
Taylor Bradford: Well; Julian certainly made his feelings clear earlier in the night with that interview…. But NOTHING could have prepared anyone for the intense and.. Bloody match that followed.
Clyde Simmons: That’s true Taylor, everyone knows that these two have been going back and forth on Twitter for weeks now with Tate challenging Savell to this match as a kick start to her Pride career…
Taylor Bradford: Something Savell didn’t take too kindly too; and he was sure to take his annoyance out on her from the moment she stepped inside that cage… Savell making quick work of teaching Lennox a lesson or two in humility, grating her face along the side of the cage before the door was even locked!
The screen flickers to life with the image of Lennox Tate being run across the cage wall by Julian Savell, his hand wrapped up in her long blonde locks as the official pulls the cage door closed, locking it behind him.
Clyde Simmons: Tate showed some great ring awareness though, using the turnbuckle to twist in Julian’s grasp and drive her knee in deep for a low blow, forcing him to relinquish the hold if only momentarily…. Lennox getting a few jabs in before Savell’s elbow to her gut knocked the wind out of her, forcing her onto her back foot.
Taylor Bradford: As would be expected, Julian was quick to regain control of the match, dominating Lennox in the ring and just throwing her around like a rag doll for a while there, before finally allowing her what seemed to be a momentary reprieve, only to lay her out with a Savior Kick when she made it to her knees.
Clyde Simmons: And the echo of that kick was heard around the arena and beyond i’m sure, if nothing else, that kick will be a lesson not quickly forgotten by Tate, as Savell all but kicked her teeth down her throat.
The image on the screen is of Lennox Tate rolling over onto her stomach and pulling up onto all fours, spitting blood from her mouth onto the Canvas as Julian simply watches on, laughing slightly as he circles her like a lion circling his prey.
Taylor Bradford: You have to hand it to Tate, throughout this match not once did she look ready or willing to quit, even when after such a brutal kick, Julian then slammed his knee into the back of her head, forcing her face first back into the canvas.
Clyde Simmons: The impact of which left an imprint on that canvas in blood; Julian actually having a little mercy in looking to make quick work of the match and pulling her into what he calls the Savior Lock…
Taylor Bradford: If by mercy you mean looking to take her arm clean off sure.. I’m not sure body parts are supposed to bend that way; but somehow, Lennox refused to tap, fighting her way out of the hold and surprising even Savell with her resilience.
Clyde Simmons: Something she paid for moments later when her entire body was crashing into the cage, Julian targeting that shoulder and arm now, stomping down on it, twisting his boot against the shoulder joint; Lennox crying out in pain on more than one occasion…
Taylor Bradford: And of course, the sick look of satisfaction on Savell’s face reminding us all why it’s Never a good idea to challenge this man to a match… But Lennox just kept coming, never staying down no matter how many times Julian put her there and screamed it in her face…
Clyde Simmons: Savell all but ending it with his finisher he calls The Unsaved Stomp, going for the cover and yet somehow.. Lennox Tate STILL Kicked out! And for the end of this match, we need to roll the tape please…
Taylor Bradford: See this here, Lennox in an amazing upset, somehow getting the jump on Savell and rolling him up for a pin out of nowhere, getting the three count!!
As the official calls for the bell, Lennox scrambles backwards and bangs on the cage door yelling at them to unlock it, jumping out and backing up and away from the ring quickly with a pained smile on her face as she favors her shoulder, stumbling, barely still on her feet as she retreats as the winner... shaking her head in near disbelief.
Clyde Simmons: And the look on Lennox’s face says it all…
Taylor Bradford: She may be hurting for the next few days Clyde, but something tells me nothing is going to wipe that smile off of her face.
Singles Match
Raven Knight vs Scarlett Chambers
Raven Knight vs Scarlett Chambers
Clyde Simmons: This next match was all one sided, with Raven Knight absolutely dominating her opponent, Scarlett Chambers. Keeping most of the action to the middle of the ring, Knight used quick and calculated strikes across the body of Chambers to keep her right where she wanted her.
Taylor Bradford: Chambers didn’t put up much of a fight as she was outright dominated by the mysterious Raven, who’s boot seemed to find exactly the right spots to keep Chambers on the mat for the entire match.
Clyde Simmons: I don’t think we saw her on her feet once from the moment the cage door was locked and honestly,Knight didn’t need the cage, she had a control over Scarlet that was impressive for such a new comer.
Taylor Bradford: And at the end of it all, Raven made quick work of Chambers, taking her down with the move she calls Knight Terrors, picking up a quick three count.
Clyde Simmons: Chambers didn’t stand a chance from the moment she entered that ring; lets hope our own Kendall Johnson had more luck with Persephone.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT:
Interview: Persephone
Kendall Johnson: This woman needs no introduction but it's my job to do it anyway! One half of tonight's Main event... Persephone! Tonight, you along with Jenson Idol make up the first ever Pride, Adrenaline! Main Event and the question on everyone's minds is, how does it feel to be here?
Persephone: If you kept an eye on my Twitter you would know exactly how it feels, Kacey.
Persephone giggles as Kendall grips the microphone tighter.
Persephone: Truth is, I'm not only excited but I am ready! Most of my career I have wrestled in tiny venues in front of a few hundred to a few thousand people, but tonight that all changes. I've been vocal about my excitement for wrestling here in MSG, but I suppose you weren't paying much attention.
She points a finger at the interviewer.*
Persephone: Much like you couldn't have been paying attention when you decided to wear THAT to this event.
Kendall bites down on her jaw forcing a smile.*
Kendall Johnson: Well, thank you for your opinion Persephone... And I am sure the fans share your excitement; but how does it feel stepping into the ring with Jenson after the things he has said to you in his promo reels?
Persephone: It feels liberating. My loss to Jenson is one that has haunted me since it happened. With Jenson being best friends with my fiancé, Maddux, we have always had to play nice with each other. Jenson took it upon himself to declare that we were never friends however, and that means tonight, he will find out what it's like to be my enemy. It's not pretty. Kind of ugly, actually. You know about ugly, don't you, Kacey?
A wide grin forms over the first Pride signees face as she stares down the interviewer.
Kendall smiles at Persephone but her cheeks flush with color as she clears her throat
Kendall Johnson: Well... The fans are certainly heated for tonight. How do you respond to the rumblings that you're nothing but another loud mouthed blonde barbie with more cleavage than talent?
Persephone: Look at my body of work. I've been a champion everywhere I've been, you don't win championships by fluke, you win them in the ring. The current Honor Champion? I've defeated him. Anyone saying I'm a blonde Barbie that lacks talent obviously lacks a functioning brain. Now, do you have any other ridiculous questions?
As Kendall attempts to answer, Persephone talks over her.
Persephone: Tonight is about me, okay? I'm the soon to be Pride champion and that starts by taking out one of the strongest competitors in the tournament , Jenson Idol. I would love to see someone question my talent after the show I put on tonight.
Kendall tries to keep the smile on her face, though it now looks slightly forced.
Kendall Johnson: Speaking of strong competitors, another big name here at Pride is Jacob Daniels; you and he have some history, now do you feel knowing you could potentially have to face him in the next round of this tournament?
Persephone: I hope the brackets aren't aligned in that fashion, that would be bad business, but if that is how things go, I will show him, just as I will show Jenson tonight, why New York is a long way away from Indy, and just how much things can change.
Kendall smirked slightly, but tries to hide it...
Kendall Johnson: So, there are no residual feelings there? Because askew all know, not only have you lost to Daniels in the past... But rumours have been circulating for a while now that your interest in Jacob was, more than professional...?
Persephone's cheeks flush in anger as she glares at the interviewer.*
Persephone: I am marrying the love of my life, Maddux Kingcade in four days. Perhaps your time would be better spent doing proper research and asking meaningful questions rather than addressing RUMORS that are months old. This interview is over.
Persephone walks off camera before returning with her lips curled.
Persephone: And if you ever ask me a question like that last one again, you will regret it.
With her warning, the co headliner of the evening turns and walks away.
Singles Match
Drew Stevenson vs Zachary Sears
Drew Stevenson vs Zachary Sears
Clyde Simmons: Another highly anticipated match in this one; Drew Stevenson of course being quite the signing for Pride and Zachary Sears looking to cement himself as a true contender for the Pride Championship.
Taylor Bradford: Sears' definitely caught off guard by Stevenson’s immediate attack as soon as the cage was closed, not even so much waiting for the bell before he barrelled into Sears, taking him down to the mat.
Clyde Simmons: But, Sears of course showing his superior ring awareness had Drew off his feet just as quickly, the two gathering themselves and going at it trading blow for blow, an impressive feat for Sears who stood up to such a high class fighter in Stevenson.
Taylor Bradford: Stevenson looked for an early win with a Triangle Choke, but Sears using his own athleticism was able to not only escape the hold with relative ease, but was able to reserve it into an arm bar.
Clyde Simmons: Sears and Stevenson trading suplexes for a few moments, basically just showing off for the fans who of course, loved every second of it before Sears eventually capitalized on the bounce, taking Stevenson down with a double under hook back breaker.
Taylor Bradford: This match was perhaps the technical gem of the night with both men wosing exceptional prowess in the ring, but perhaps missing out on a huge part of the Pride ring, by not utilizing the cage as much as it could have been.
Clyde Simmons: But that certainly didn’t slow down the action, with a pretty much even playing field from start to finish, until Sears took down Stevenson with his Broken Spirit; picking up the three count.
PRIDE Championship Tournament
Aries Banks vs Blair Kivisto
Aries Banks vs Blair Kivisto
Taylor Bradford: And up next we have a match that I personally have been looking forward to since the card was announced! Blair Kivisto is an example of exactly what women can achieve in this business and she certainly showcased that tonight!
Clyde Simmons: And that isn’t to discount the work of Aries Banks, who really sold the show tonight in that cage with Blair.
Taylor Bradford: Blair and Aries being the first of the night to really use it’s cage for the full advantages, even with Banks missing his first cage assisted move and landing hard on the canvas allowing Kivisto the opportunity to use her signature move the BITCH Slap…
Clyde Simmons: Important to note here of course that there are no disqualifications in a Pride ring, something I am sure Banks will remember for a good few nights to come as for a moment his eyes seemed to roll back in his head.
Taylor Bradford: Well, Brass Knuckles are no joke and neither is Blair, pulling Aries up for a German suplex, nailing him with a second before backing off and allowing Aries some room to breathe, which it appeared, was a mistake on her part.
Clyde Simmons: As Aries got a second wind and this time almost running off the side of the cage nailed Blair to the face with his knee, both opponents hitting the mat hard but Aries up first, this time using the cage as a springboard for an elbow drop the impact of which was heard all the way back hee…
Taylor Bradford: Blair showing her perseverance and years in the ring though, all but shook the moves off and positioned Aries into a Dragon Sleeper, for a while there it looked as though Banks was going to fade out into the night…
Clyde Simmons: But just like before, he pulled up something from his boots and fought his way out of the hold, going for another cage assisted drop, but unfortunately for him; finding nothing but Blair’s knee to his midsection, collapsing him down to the mat.
Taylor Bradford: And taking no chances this time, Blair wrapped Aries up in the hold she calls Night Sweetcheeks ….. And it was goodnight for Aries Banks as eventually his body gave up when he couldn’t and Banks passed out.
Clyde Simmons: An impressive match with an impressive ending for both competitors, there’s no shame in what Aries did here tonight…
Taylor Bradford: And now back to Kendall, with hopefully a slightly more successful interview this time around!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT:
Interview: Jenson Idol
Interview: Jenson Idol
Kendall Johnson: I am standing here right now with one half of tonight's Main Event, Jenson Idol! Jenson can I please just start off by saying what a huge fan I am of yours... I am a hundred percent #TeamJenson tonight!
Jenson smiles and nods.
Jenson Idol: "Aye love, it's nice having a lovely bird like yourself on me side. The funny thing is, Persephone believes that she's more popular than anyone else in this business but what she doesn't realize is that she's the most hated. Nobody wants her as champion of Pride. They want Jenson Idol!"
Kendall's cheeks flush pink slightly as she nods her head.
Kendall Johnson: "The fans are definitely behind you tonight, heading into this match how do you feel about the way things have gone between you and Persephone in regard to the promo reels you both recorded?"
He scoffs and rolls his eyes.
Jenson Idol: "Like always, Persephone has gone and made things personal. So in turn, I did the same. I only stooped to her own childish levels. The thing is though, love, that I'm simply better. While this is a popularity contest for Persephone, it's simply about how good you are in the ring to me. And simply put? She's not better than me, she's not even bloody close to my level."
Kendall nods again, leaning her head slightly to the side as she ponders her next question.
Kendall Johnson: "Well, tonight poses something different for the both of you, wouldn't the you say? With the cage around the ring; do you think that changes things at all? Swings the odds a little more in your favor maybe?"
He nods confidently.
Jenson Idol: "The cage being around the ring gives me several advantages. It makes it to where Persephone can't go to her trademark move... which is hitting someone with a loaded purse. She's a dirty, lying cheater, love. I might be too at times but like I've said before, at least I admit it. As for that cage, look for me to use it to my advantage better than anyone else. I'm the king of parkour, love, I can pretty much climb anything."
Kendall grins with a quick nod.
Kendall Johnson: "Earlier tonight, I interviewed your opponent and she said that her loss to you has haunted her, but that this is not IPW and things are going to change.... Do you think she is a different opponent to when you beat her, or is it a case of same Persephone, different arena?"
He shakes his head.
Jenson Idol: "Aye, I think she's different in the ring but up here?"
He taps his head.
Jenson Idol: "She's still the same overly conceited twat she's always been and that's what gives me the edge."
Kendall Johnson: "Now, for fair play... I have to mention the... Shall we call it a whirlwind, of personal drama you have been the centre of lately. Persephone made a fair point, which you also countered... But, do you feel that with everything that has gone on in your personal life recently, you're one hundred percent focused on this match?"
He looks at the camera and gives it a reassuring nod.
Jenson Idol: "I'm perfectly fine. Dani and I talked after I accidentally hurt her over at #FSociety and she forgave me. I'm now settled into my new place here in Manhattan with the love of my life, Britt Ashdown. I'm in a great place despite the minor slip up."
Kendall smiles and nods.
Kendall Johnson: "I for one am glad to hear it! Before I let you go... Is there anything else you would like to say, in regards to tonight or even your career going forward?"
He takes a step towards the camera.
Jenson Idol: "Talk about Persephone, JD or anyone else all you want. But this shit isn't IPW, its Pride. It's a new ballgame for all of us and I plan on being on top."
Kendall Johnson: "Thank you for your time Jenson, I have to say you've been my favorite interview of the night.... Oh and happy birthday for tomorrow!"
PRIDE Championship Tournament
Jacob Daniels vs Tyler Chandler
Jacob Daniels vs Tyler Chandler
Taylor Bradford: Yeah, Happy early Birthday to Jenson Idol, I am sure he’s looking for the gift of continuing in on in the tournament tonight!
Clyde Simmons: What better birthday gift from us to him, than the main event with the beautiful Persephone!
Taylor Bradford: Moving on… Up next we have The Beast himself, Jacob Daniels facing Tyler Chandler!
Clyde Simmons: And Daniels was looking to keep the victories for the Beasts a-coming, though not as brutally as Lennox earlier tonight, this match certainly had some of the intensity and violence we have come to expect from Daniels.
Taylor Bradford: Definitely, with JD taking full advantage of the no disqualification rules right on the off set, smashing the face of Chandler into the cage and almost dragging him vertically across the wall.. Before tossing him across the ring with a Military press slam.
Clyde Simmons: Daniels dominated Tyler throughout the entire match, barely allowing the man a moment to breathe, a hard spear into the wall of the cage causing both men to fall to the canvas but Daniels was on his feet almost immediately, leaning down and pulling up the outdone Tyler…
We cut to a video feed showing Jacob Daniels just playing with his opponent, stalking him and each time he gets up to a knee, Jacob drives his own into the back of Tyler’s neck, of kicks his calf hard out from under him, causing him to fall back to the canvas more and more exhausted each time.
Clyde Simmons: JD literally just playing cat and mouse with Tyler here, showing his dominance and pure brute strength as he tossed his opponent to the mat with a chokeslam backbreaker.
Taylor Bradford: Almost teasing Tyler with the chance to get to his feet before a running big boot that near took his head clean off drives Tyler back down to the mat thanks to Daniels, who just laughs slightly, shaking his head as he looks down at his opponent.
Clyde Simmons: Anyone who has ever questioned this man's drive or aggression should take a look at this match, this is what it looks like to truly dominate an opponent and for no other reason than he simply can..
Taylor Bradford: And of course, Jacob picked up the win after laying out Tyler and leaving him out cold in the ring thanks to his submission hold he calls The Gallows.
The screen cuts back to the video feed, which shows Daniels finally letting go of Tyler, who flops to the canvas out cold as Jacob kicks him away from him slightly, raising his arms up and standing in the middle of the ring with an arrogant smile on his face.
PRIDE Championship Tournament
Cecily Bell vs Xavier Laroux
Cecily Bell vs Xavier Laroux
Clyde Simmons: And another hotly contested match, some people would call these two friends, others perhaps not but one thing is for sure, Xavier and Cecily put on one hell of a show for the fans.
Taylor Bradford: The heat started early in this one with Xavier locking Cecily up pretty quickly into a sleeper hold which she made her way out of fighting, pushing Xavier back and into the cage itself, using it to her advantage to trap him between herself and the wall, forcing him to eventually break the hold.
Clyde Simmons: Cecily then taking control of the match, with Xavier getting his offensive strikes in but her not relenting as she took him to the mat with a Belly to Back suplex and started landing quick, sharp kicks to various points on Xavier’s body.
Taylor Bradford: And the strike offensive worked well for a time for her before Laroux obviously decided enough was enough and grabbing her foot at an opportune moment and twisting it into an ankle lock levelling them both back to the canvas with a thud.
Clyde Simmons: Laroux affording himself the chance to essentially crawl up Cecily’s body to draw her into a sleeper with bodyscissors, obviously looking to end the match nice and quickly for the both of them.
Taylor Bradford: But, Cecily showing her fighting spirit was having none of it and battled out of the hold with an explosion of energy going off on Laroux like a rocket! Bell nailing him with a missile drop kick followed up with a Drive by kick, going for the cover and getting a two count.
Clyde Simmons: And that’s where the frustrations started to show and Xavier, the calculated wrestler that he is was quick to take advantage of that, making light work of drawing her back down to the mat before taking her out with The Addiction.
PRIDE Championship Tournament
Persephone vs Jenson Idol
Persephone vs Jenson Idol
Taylor Bradford: And now, the match of the night.. Things have been heating up between these two in the last few days and it all came to a head inside the pride wrestling ring…
Clyde Simmons: Persephone herself admitted that her loss to Jenson has haunted her career, tonight she looked to exorcise that ghost from her career…
The screen cuts to Persephone and Jenson Idol in the middle of the ring, the door being locked by the official.. Jenson steps forward and says something to Jenson that only Persephone can hear, obviously having the desired effect as she slaps the taste out of his mouth.
Jenson laughs slightly as he touches the corner of his mouth where she slapped him before lunging forward with a hard left in response to her slap, she grabs her jaw for a moment looking to be in shock as Jenson just laughs again, opening his arms up at her.
Clyde Simmons: Absolute disrespect right at the off from Jenson Idol!
Taylor Bradford: Nonsense, Persephone signed up for this… It’s a wrestling match not a sleepover and Jenson wasted no time in reminding Persephone of that, as she took his invitation and ran with it, running right into his butt to her face.
Clyde Simmons: Jenson with a Pele kick to Persephone as both get back to their feet and begin to square off once more, Idol’s lips moving obviously talking smack to throw Persephone off of her game who only appeared to get angrier and angrier as this continued,
Taylor Bradford: Jenson using this to his advantage took Persephone down to the mat, but Persephone took some control back raking her nails down the eyes of Idol who was forced to roll away allowing her to get to her feet.
The screen cuts to a video of Persephone standing over Idol, raking her nails down his back as he yells and throws an elbow back, connecting with the side of her face and forcing her to back off of him as she rolls up to his knees and throws a hand over his shoulder to touch his back, shaking his head.
Clyde Simmons: Persephone once again showing how resourceful she is there…
Taylor Bradford: Right… Didn’t last too long for her though as Idol was back on his feet, grabbing her hair with both of his hands and swinging the side of her head into the cage, dropping her at his feet and yelling something about playing dirty…
Clyde Simmons: And once again, this is where Pride stands out because anything goes within that cage and these two looked to take full advantage of that, with Jenson literally standing on Persephone’s hair and yanking her upwards, causing her to yelp out in pain as he just laughed and dropped her back to the canvas.
Taylor Bradford: And then Jenson driving the crowd wild with his aerial skills, running up the side of the cage to lay Persephone out with a Blockbuster!
The screen shows Jenson Idol literally run the ring and up the side of the cage to take Persephone down with the move, laying her flat out, he picks up the three count before springing to his feet, he stands over her and leans over slightly, waving ‘hello’ to her as the official calls for the bell.
Taylor Bradford: And of course, celebrating in true Idol style, Jenson being sure that his smiling face is the last thing Persephone sees as his victory sinks in… And that was the first ever PRIDE: Adrenaline! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did guys…
Clyde Simmons: It was one hell of a show and with some huge names still in this tournament...The best is still to come.
